Two leading and very successful organisations in the homelessness and related sectors, HomeGround and Hanover, have merged to form a new agency, Launch Housing, with an ambitious agenda to achieve our vision of ending homelessness. Launch Housing is a strong, single, focused voice on homelessness driven by the values of Empowerment, Fresh Thinking, Agility, Leadership and Courage.
Launch Housing has an exciting opportunity available within our Initial Assessment and Planning (IAP) teams in Collingwood & St Kilda for experienced individuals committed to working with people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
IAP Services are Launch Housing's first point of contact with our clients and the role of staff is to provide information, referral and support to assist families and individuals to find short term and long term secure and affordable housing.
It's a high volume service responding to the needs of homeless people, many of whom are experiencing crisis. We are therefore looking for those who can work under pressure and are able to make sound decisions quickly. You should have empathy for our clients and an ability to relate effectively and sensitively to people from diverse backgrounds. A track record of working well in a team environment is also vital.
The IAP team collectively covers the hours of 9am- 5pm, Monday to Friday. Casual shifts will always be a minimum of 4 hours and we are ideally seeking an applicant with a broad range of availability across the working week, to help assist us with appropriate coverage and resourcing.
For a full copy of the position description, please follow the 'How to Apply' instructions below. For further information about the role please contact Leila Keating on 9288 9611 or Danielle Baldwin on 8598 1111.
All applicants must have the right to work in Australia and will be required to complete a Working with Children and Police check. Launch Housing is an Equal Opportunity employer and supports accessible working arrangements for all. This includes people with a disability, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, culturally, religiously and linguistically diverse people, young people, older people, women, and people who identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, gender diverse, intersex or queer. We acknowledge Lived Experience as a unique expertise, and encourage people with a Lived Experience of Homelessness to apply.
