The selection process

If you are successful in being chosen to attend an interview at Launch Housing, you will be given clear instructions ahead of time, regarding the date and time, location of the interview and the names and positions of the interview panel.

Our interviews are generally based around the behavioural interview model, asking candidates to draw from their past work experiences. It can help candidates, when responding to behavioural interview questions, to use the S-T-A-R technique, outlined below.

  • Describe the Situation or Task (be specific and outline challenges you faced)
  • Describe the Action(s) you took in response
  • Describe the Results you achieved and evaluate what you learned from the experience

You will generally be required to attend one interview, although in certain circumstances two may be needed.

Once successful at interview stage, at least two references will be completed (preferably with current/former direct line managers).

You will also be required to complete a National Police check form, and where relevant, an International Police check and Working with Children’s Check.

If these are all satisfactory, you will then receive a verbal offer, followed by a written offer.
